About the Wordsmiths

Anitra Budd has decades of experience in literary publishing, having served in roles from editing intern to independent bookstore seller to executive director of a nonprofit press. She’s also worked as a writer and editor for both corporate and nonprofit organizations, including General Mills, Search Institute, and the University of Minnesota. 

As a freelancer, Anitra has written articles for numerous publications including Publisher’s Weekly and American Craft Council, and written and edited for agencies and corporations including Zeus Jones, jmc software, 3M, Ameriprise, Optum, and Thrivent. As a public speaker, she’s served on panels, given presentations, and emceed events. She’s also taught undergrad and graduate students about writing, editing, and publishing.

Carol Roth is an experienced writer and editor, largely in the corporate content marketing arena. She’s written, edited, and provided content and brand strategy for clients in a variety of industries: shipping and logistics, finance, building and construction, automotive, and industrial safety.

Carol brings the same commitment to create clear, approachable, effective content regardless of the subject matter and across all forms of communication, including social media, websites, emails, ads, video scripts, and more. She’s also a self-published novelist and co-founder of a music coverage platform, Adventures in Americana, where she writes articles, reviews, and interviews, as well as producing a podcast and managing social media strategy.
